Once children come into our plans, our lives change forever, children bring a whole kind of love into our lives that make us sacrifice a lot for them. Finding the right words to describe our love for our children isn’t easy, so our actions show them how much they mean to us. We want to give them all we have to make them happy and to train them to become better than who we were.
For those who have children, you should know that children are quick to learn and have lots of energy to do tasks, and most importantly children are very observant, they watch adults’ every move, how they talk and behave and they learn from that. So it is essential to show them good examples and teach them the right things through our actions. The future of these children depends on what they are taught at an early age.
There are basic things that children need to be taught at an early age, apart from teaching them the basics you can also teach them by what they see us do. Children learn faster by what they see than what they are taught in schools. So it is important that when raising a child/children you have to be careful what you do or say around them.
Here are things they need to learn at an early age:
1. Avoid getting dressed in front of your children once they are 2 years old. Always excuse them or yourself.
2. Teach your 3-year-olds how to wash their private part properly and let them know how bad it is to allow anyone to touch that area.
3. Let your child/children understand the value of standing out of the crowd.
4. Always give a listening ear to your child/children, allow them to speak out their minds concerning a matter and advice accordingly, this will make them very comfortable in talking to you and in future be able to tell you anything.
5. Always excuse your child/children whenever you are having discussions with an adult because children show interest in everything adults say or do. They are likely to pick the negative things.
6. Educate your child/children from 3 years old on how to be neat and always look decent.
7. Instruct your child/children how to greet adults properly depending on your culture.
8. Let them understand why and how they should stand up for themselves when bullied.
9. Let your child/children know the dangers of talking to strangers or collecting gifts from them.
10. From the age of 6 years begin to show them how to cook. Always let them follow you to the kitchen whenever you want to cook. especially the girls.
11. Teach them the importance of being good, how to be good to others, and the consequences of doing the opposite.
12. Teach them how to be independent, not to always rely on others but to have confidence in themselves.
No parent/guardian is perfect in rasing children. All they can do is try their best to raise a child to the best of their ability.
